Necessity is the mother of invention.

I created easyworkapplication.com during a period when I had a lot of time on my hands. I left one company before securing employment with another right before the new year (a time that is generally very difficult to find a job during). I needed to find some hourly, part-time work while I waited for a management position to come through and found that it was almost impossible to apply for many hourly jobs online. This seemed strange to me. Many companies allow management applicants to electronically submit their resume and fill out a pre-screening survey or application. So why wouldn't they offer this for hourly applicants? I never found the answer, but I speculate that it has to do with the cost involved with offering online application submission. What could be done to remedy this obvious inconvenience?

So, during the evenings, when I couldn't "pound the pavement" looking for work, I learned HTML and CSS and put together the first incarnation of easyworkapplication.com. As the project evolved, it started to take on a life of it's own. The online process that started as a simple way to submit an application through e-mail turned into a pre-screening process that lets employers conduct what is essentially a first interview before even sitting down with the applicant. The employer is then able to schedule interviews that will count. Money is saved, time is saved, and life becomes easier!

The future of easyworkapplication.com is bright. Projects are in the works to create a fully self-contained destination site for applicants that includes search and browsing capabilities.
